In this paper,the fundamental principles,the characters of the fault detection and diagnosis methods and its applications are simply summarized.The paper emphatically offers an intelligent method,expert system,on fault diagnosis in systems.Further,the paper discussed the structure,functions and characters of the expert system.Finally,the paper presents some actual factors in designing a fault diagnosis system.
